Ubuntu

Social Media Strategy for the leading open-source software system Ubuntu.

Ubuntu wanted to continue to drive it’s innovation as open-source software leaders by entering into Internet of Things. We helped by creating a social media strategy and content calendars across two key channels - Facebook and Twitter.

The strategy focused on the existing and active community of over 1 million that included developers, startup and enterprise to act as a ripple-effect. Campaigns included hackathons, competitions and leveraging user-stories. Over a two year period, the results grew brand visibility on Facebook by 234%, Twitter follower growth by 51% and an increase of 18% in web traffic

This increase helped position Ubuntu as thought leaders in the IoT space with an increase in commercial partnerships - helping companies get their first IoT device to market and a rise in developers contributing to the platform.
